Elin Øyen Vister works with field recordings that examine and explore natura, urban and rural sound spaces and sound environments. In 2010 she started a dedicated and comprehensive collection of soundscapes in the Røst archipelago in Lofoten, through her Soundscape Røst project.
Thematically the last years sound works have focused on soundscapes changing as a result of the ongoing ecological crisis and the decline in biodiversity as a result. Elin Øyen Visters sound installations explores listening strategies when presenting sonic art works, and are questioning todays listening cultures.
Elin Øyen Vister completed a MFA in Fine Arts from KHIB in Bergen in 2014 and she followed the MFA Nordic Sound Art Program from 2010-2012, at Trondheim Academy Of Fine Arts.
NNKS presents the sound installation Soundscape Røst – The Listening Lounge. The audience is asked to enter the installation one at a time, administered by a reservations and ticketing at the NNKS foyer / art shop.
